Allysin Chaynes was born in Romania and moved to the United States with her family when she was a child. Her folks eventually settled in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, where Allysin got the acting bug. She took lots of classes and dreamed of a career as a mainstream actress, but it was porn that was to come calling first. Allysin had always been intrigued by hardcore, and during her senior year in high school she decided to do something about it. She and her boyfriend answered an ad in a local paper and found themselves talking to Randy West, who was looking for fresh young talent for his 'Up and Cummers' series. Within a week of interviewing with West, the couple were steaming up the sheets on a video shoot. Their debut roll in the hay can be seen in 'Up and Cummers 45.'

Her stage name is derived from the heavy metal rock band Alice in Chains. She liked the name Allysin, and considered the name Allysin Wonderland, but changed the surname to Chaynes at the behest of Randy West who thought Allysin Chaynes was more original.

Allysin was known for her petite body and youthful appearance, and starred in many youth and teen-oriented movies. Her best known role was that of the title character in "Kelly the Co-ed". She went on to play the same character in numerous sequels and spin-offs.

Despite her tiny frame, Allysin got had a boob job, citing industry pressures as one of the major reasons she decided to go under the knife. Also due to her petite frame, she has said that she is not often a fan of largely endowed men, and is more in the business for the enjoyment of the sexual experiences than for the fame or fortune.

Allysin retired from the adult movie business in 2005, but returned in 2007 for a brief comeback
